Apprenticeships Response to Covid -19

The Apprenticeship Intermediary Service

Published: 05 February 2020 The Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA) is working in partnership with the National Skills Academy for Rail (NSAR) to help Local Enterprise Partnerships (LEPs) and other smaller business intermediaries throughout England understand the recent changes to apprenticeships and how this impacts smaller employers.

Workplace Training and Development Commission - input needed

Published: 21 January 2020 The British Chamber of Commerce have set up a commission to look at skills/training and workforce development – the Workplace Training & Development Commission . The commission is due to report in the summer and for the purpose of informing that report they are currently undertaking some research.

Help shape the design of the apprenticeship service - Calling all small and medium sized employers

Published: 27 June 2019 The ESFA has opened an Expressions of Interest (EOI) for small and medium sized employers and supporting training providers to help the ESFA in its initial phase, to test the system functionality of the apprenticeship service for employers who do not pay the Levy. The first EOI will open on 13 June 2019 and close 05 July 2019, after which the ESFA will select employers and supporting providers who have starts in August, September and October.

Degree Level Apprenticeships

Published: 24 October 2017 BASA has been approached in regard Materials Degree Apprenticeship Development and some work that is being investigated for a proposal to develop a broad degree level programme. This proposal is written on the basis of groups of employers (trailblazers) proposing and developing a new apprenticeship standard. The link to the Trailblazer information is given here.
